Abstract
This article focuses on recent federal policy changes in the United States that have disrupted the nation’s health infrastructure by rescinding public health programs, reducing research funding, and undermining healthcare equity. Key developments include the rollback of diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, Medicaid disruptions, data removal and censorship, and proposed budget cuts to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), all of which threaten research, public health practice, and early career researchers’ development. The article calls for coordinated advocacy, public awareness campaigns, grassroots mobilization, legal resistance, and international collaboration to defend scientific integrity, sustain health equity, and protect essential health services amid these challenges.
