Abstract
This article examines the specific location, duration, and gender dynamics of erotic touch in the most-viewed mainstream heterosexual pornography videos from two popular websites, PornHub and Xhamster. The study found that women receive significantly less genital stimulation than men, particularly in non-penetrative touch, with men's penises receiving about ten times more stimulation than women's clitorises. Additionally, women perform the majority of non-reciprocal genital touch on men, highlighting an imbalance in sexual labor depicted in these videos. The findings suggest that popular pornography normalizes male-centered sexual pleasure and may contribute to unrealistic sexual expectations and difficulties in sexual satisfaction for both genders. The article emphasizes the importance of more equitable and accurate representations of erotic touch in pornography to better reflect and support sexual pleasure and education.
