Abstract
The article reviews *Orwell: 2+2=5*, a documentary directed by Raoul Peck that explores the origins and enduring relevance of George Orwell’s novel *Nineteen Eighty-Four*. The film uses archival footage, newsreels, and Orwell’s own writings to examine the rise of authoritarianism and surveillance worldwide, linking Orwell’s mid-20th-century insights to contemporary political events and technologies. Peck, known for his politically engaged films, contextualizes Orwell’s life and colonial background to highlight themes of power, oppression, and resistance. The documentary also incorporates modern imagery and film adaptations to underscore the ongoing struggle between truth and state control. [Extracted from the article]
