Abstract
This article focuses on a retrospective study comparing the clinical efficacy of conventional acupuncture versus acupuncture combined with warm acupuncture and moxibustion in treating constipation with defecation disorder. Sixty patients treated at the Department of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, Daxing Hospital, Capital Medical University, were divided equally into two groups and assessed using the Wexner Constipation Scale and the Patient Assessment of Constipation Quality of Life (PAC-QOL) scale. Results showed that both treatments improved constipation symptoms and quality of life, but the combination of acupuncture with warm acupuncture and moxibustion demonstrated significantly greater improvements and a higher effective rate (93.33% vs. 70.00%). The study concludes that adding warm acupuncture and moxibustion to conventional acupuncture offers enhanced clinical benefits for patients with defecation disorder constipation and suggests further prospective research to confirm these findings.
