Abstract
This article focuses on investigating the application of Yamamoto New Scalp Acupuncture (YNSA) neck diagnostic points in canines with disk disease and their relationship to meridians. The study found that canine scalp points corresponded to specific meridians—Basic A points to the governing vessel (GV), Basic B to the bladder (BL), and Basic C and D to the gall bladder (GB) meridian—and that affected cervical vertebrae correlated horizontally with lumbar and caudal vertebrae. Effective treating points were identified as minute fibrous structures within connective tissue (fascia), differing from traditional Chinese medicine acupoints. Case studies demonstrated that acupuncture based on these findings facilitated recovery in canines with disk disease, suggesting a novel framework for understanding YNSA, traditional Chinese medicine, and fascia in veterinary acupuncture.
