Natural proliferative phase frozen embryo transfer—a new approach which may facilitate scheduling without hindering pregnancy outcomes.

Abstract

This article evaluates the natural proliferative phase frozen embryo transfer (NPP-FET) protocol compared to conventional artificial cycle (AC) and natural cycle (NC) endometrial preparation methods in terms of live birth rates (LBR) and safety outcomes. In a retrospective cohort study of 5,791 blastocyst-stage FET cycles at a private infertility center, NPP-FET showed higher LBR (49.1%) than AC (38.4%) and comparable rates to NC (45.2%), with lower miscarriage and first trimester bleeding rates than AC. Additionally, gestational hypertensive disorders were less frequent in NPP and NC protocols compared to AC. The study suggests that NPP-FET may offer a practical and effective alternative to AC and NC, though prospective studies with larger samples are needed to confirm these findings.
