Abstract

The article focuses on acupuncture, an ancient Chinese medical practice involving the insertion of fine needles into the skin to promote the body's natural healing processes. Acupuncture is believed to stimulate the release of endorphins, which are natural pain-relieving hormones, and is often recommended for chronic pain and tension headaches, although scientific evidence supporting its efficacy is limited. The practice has roots dating back to 6000 BCE and traditionally aims to balance the body's energy, known as qi. Acupuncture points are strategically located near nerve endings and blood vessels, and the treatment can activate the central nervous system, influencing various bodily functions such as mood and pain regulation.
