Abstract

This article discusses the use of colchicine as a treatment for chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) that is resistant to antihistamine and omalizumab treatments. CSU is characterized by the spontaneous occurrence of weals and angio-oedema for at least 6 weeks. The article mentions that colchicine can suppress cell-mediated immune responses and improve the quality of life for patients with chronic urticaria. However, more controlled studies are needed to understand the effectiveness of colchicine in treating CSU. The article does not provide information on the patient's thyroid function or the duration of colchicine treatment. [Extracted from the article]
