Abstract

Researchers from Tajen University have conducted a study on the potential of g-Oryzanol, a natural compound found in rice bran, as a treatment for vascular dementia. The study used an in vitro model of differentiated HT-22 cells to investigate whether g-Oryzanol could delay or improve glutamate neurotoxicity. The results showed that g-Oryzanol had neuroprotective properties against glutamate excitotoxicity, suggesting that it could be a promising candidate for the development of therapies for neurodegenerative diseases, including vascular dementia. Further research is needed to explore its potential as a treatment. [Extracted from the article]
