Abstract
This article discusses the condition of calcinosis in systemic sclerosis (SSc), which is characterized by the deposition of insoluble calcium salts in tissues. The exact cause of calcinosis is unknown, and there are currently no effective medical treatments for this condition. Imaging, particularly X-rays, plays a crucial role in detecting and tracking the progression of calcinosis. The article presents a case study of a 74-year-old Caucasian woman with SSc who exhibited cutaneous calcinosis and other symptoms. The authors emphasize the importance of detailed physical examination for diagnosing SSc at a late stage of the disease. [Extracted from the article]
