Abstract
The article focuses on three dermatological studies investigating androgenetic alopecia (AGA), inflammatory acne vulgaris, and nail capillary morphology in psoriasis patients with metabolic syndrome. The first study evaluates the efficacy of minoxidil in male AGA patients, finding significant increases in hair counts and thickness, with higher baseline sulfotransferase enzyme activity linked to better treatment response. The second study assesses interleukin-33 (IL-33) expression in inflammatory acne vulgaris and reports that intense pulsed light (IPL) treatment reduces IL-33 levels and clinical severity. The third study examines nailfold capillaroscopy in psoriatic patients, revealing that those with metabolic syndrome exhibit greater endothelial dysfunction, suggesting nail capillaroscopy as a useful tool for early detection of microvascular changes in this population.
