The article discusses a case of a 12-year-old boy with an eruption of erythematous facial papules. The differential diagnoses considered include acne vulgaris, rosacea, allergic contact dermatitis, seborrhoeic dermatitis, and periorificial dermatitis. The correct diagnosis for the case patient was periorificial dermatitis, characterized by clusters of erythematous papules, pustules, and scaling around the mouth and nose.
