Abstract
The article focuses on recent clinical research evaluating acupuncture and related therapies for various health conditions. Auricular acupressure (AA) was found effective in improving constipation, stool satisfaction, and psychosocial well-being in palliative care patients. Electro-acupuncture (EA), alone or combined with warm needling (EAWN), significantly reduced tinnitus severity in older adults. In women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) undergoing fertility treatment, EA improved clinical pregnancy rates and embryo quality, potentially through enhanced mitochondrial function. Intensive needle manipulation showed superior outcomes over ordinary acupuncture for intractable facial paralysis, while acupuncture also demonstrated benefits in reducing postpartum depression and improving insomnia with comorbid depressive symptoms. These findings suggest acupuncture-based interventions may offer evidence-based, integrative options for managing these diverse conditions.
