Abstract
The article reviews the efficacy of sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT) tablets, composed of standardized allergen extracts, for treatment of grass pollen-induced allergic rhinitis (AR). It summaries studies which compared the effects of five-grass pollen tablet and a one-grass pollen tablet, examined the role of temperate grass pollen in seasonal AR, and evaluated the efficacy of SLIT versus placebo. It also outlines nursing care considerations when administering Grastek or Oralair SLIT tablets.
