Abstract
This article investigates the influence of physical activity and internet addiction on intuitive eating among college students, defined as eating based on internal hunger and satiety cues rather than external dieting rules. Across two studies—a large questionnaire survey and a seven-day ecological momentary assessment—results consistently showed that physical activity did not significantly affect intuitive eating, while internet addiction had a negative impact both immediately and in the short term. Additionally, no interaction effect was found between physical activity and internet addiction on intuitive eating, suggesting these factors operate independently. The findings highlight internet addiction as a more critical factor than physical activity in shaping college students' intuitive eating behaviors in the digital age.
