Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this clinical focus article is to apply asynchronous and hybrid voice telepractice methods to a simulated clinical case. The authors provide an overview of telepractice methods and integrate recent literature on asynchronous and hybrid voice telepractice approaches including ecological momentary assessments and interventions via mobile apps, determining client eligibility for telepractice methods via evidence-based practice, and the use of mobile app support to facilitate client adherence to voice therapy. Conclusions: Asynchronous and hybrid telepractice approaches offer meaningful extensions to synchronous voice methods. These innovative approaches have the potential to enhance client involvement within their functional environment. Further research and clinical implementation of these methods are warranted to advance voice care beyond synchronous delivery models.
