Abstract

The article discusses the use of spreadsheets with graphical user interfaces (GUIs) for virtual experiments in science education. Two experiments are highlighted: one on detecting light intensity using a photocell and another on rectification using diodes. The spreadsheets allow students to understand concepts and relationships between variables without the need for physical lab setups. Teachers and students find these virtual experiments on spreadsheets to be a safer and effective alternative to traditional lab experiments, especially in the context of online teaching.
