Abstract

The article reviews *Journalism, Society and Politics in the Digital Media Era* (2020), a collection of eight conference papers exploring the impact of digital media on journalism, political participation, and society. The volume is organized into four thematic sections addressing journalism education and media literacy, the role of social media in political activism and campaigns, the changing practices of news production and consumption, and media framing of political crises. The papers highlight challenges such as the erosion of trust in media, the blurring of professional and citizen journalism, and threats to journalistic standards of accuracy and objectivity. This collection offers insights into the disruptions digital media pose to journalism's role in fostering informed citizenship and vibrant political culture.
