Abstract

The article focuses on a study examining the effects of neurolinguistic programming (NLP) as a mental training intervention on anxiety, self-confidence, self-esteem, and swimming performance in young finswimmers in Gyor, Hungary. The research involved thirty participants, divided into experimental and control groups, and utilized pre- and post-test designs along with questionnaires and interviews. Results indicated that the experimental group experienced significant reductions in cognitive and somatic anxiety, along with increases in self-confidence and self-esteem, which also positively impacted their swimming records. The study suggests that ongoing NLP training could further enhance these benefits for athletes. [Extracted from the article]
