Abstract
The article focuses on the investigation into the assassination of Mahmoud al-Mabhouh, a Hamas logistics chief, in Dubai in January 2010, and the subsequent artistic interpretation of the event through Adam Kaplan's video, *Buildups*. The investigation utilized CCTV footage and various records to create a timeline of the murder, allegedly carried out by Israeli Mossad agents, although the Mossad did not respond to the allegations. Kaplan's video employs CGI to depict the assassination's locations devoid of human presence, emphasizing the interplay between forensic evidence and speculative representation. The article explores how the model serves as both a blueprint of the assassination's logistics and a commentary on the complexities of state violence, surveillance, and the nature of evidence in the context of assassination.
