Abstract

A recent report from the Psychiatric Research Unit in Slagelse, Denmark explores the use of rapid application development (RAD) in creating a mobile app for patients diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) in a psychiatric outpatient setting. The study applied the four phases of the RAD model (requirements planning, user design, construction, and cutover) to develop the app, with close collaboration between clinicians, researchers, and software developers. The app was successfully tested with a small number of BPD patients, and the research suggests that RAD could be a useful model for developing evidence-based technology for clinical populations.
