Abstract
Apple Inc. experienced a 21% increase in personal computer shipments in the second quarter, the largest growth among global PC makers. This growth is part of a broader industry recovery, with worldwide shipments of desktops and laptops increasing by 3% from the previous year. Apple and Acer Inc. saw the biggest gains in shipments among major manufacturers. The PC industry had previously experienced declines, but a cycle of new purchases is now underway. Dell Technologies Inc. was the only major company to see a decline in shipments, while Lenovo Group Ltd. had the highest market share. HP Inc. also saw a modest increase in shipments. Weak demand in China impacted the overall results, but excluding China, worldwide shipments grew by over 5%. [Extracted from the article]
