Abstract

The article focuses on the integration of Clinical Decision Support Systems (CDSSs) in radiology to enhance imaging workflows and decision-making. CDSSs utilize algorithms, data, and medical knowledge to assist healthcare professionals in making informed diagnostic and treatment decisions, ultimately improving patient outcomes and reducing unnecessary procedures. The article discusses the evolution of CDSS applications, their benefits—including adherence to clinical guidelines and cost-effectiveness—and the challenges they face, such as algorithmic bias and user dependency. It emphasizes the importance of integrating CDSSs with existing health information technologies to optimize workflows and ensure patient safety.
