Abstract
This article evaluates Intel’s refreshed Core Ultra 200S Plus desktop CPUs, an update to the original Arrow Lake-S processors launched in October 2024. The refresh addresses key performance bottlenecks by increasing core counts, clock speeds, and improving interconnect and memory controller speeds, while maintaining compatibility with the LGA 1851 socket and existing chipsets. These improvements enhance productivity and gaming performance, making the CPUs more competitive and affordable, though they still require DDR5 memory and a suitable motherboard. While not the top choice for gaming enthusiasts prioritizing frame rates, the Core Ultra 200S Plus series offers a balanced option for users seeking strong performance across both work and play.
