Abstract
The article focuses on recent developments in satellite communications and artificial intelligence (AI) applications within defense and commercial sectors. Globalsat Group has expanded its presence in Central America and the Caribbean through a strategic alliance, enhancing its capabilities in mission-critical satellite solutions and Internet of Things (IoT) services under the leadership of Juan Ramón Porras. The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is advancing trustworthy AI for military use, emphasizing secure autonomy and collaboration with major technology companies to develop AI tools, including large language models, for cybersecurity and operational applications. Additionally, the global optical satellite communication market is projected to grow significantly by 2030, driven by demand for high-speed data transmission, with notable regional growth in the Americas and Europe supported by government initiatives and private investment.
