Abstract
REGULARSThe creation of Barcelona's iconic gridded region began in the 1850s, following the demolition of the city's encompassing walls in response to its overgrowing population. It was designed by Spanish engineer Ildefons Cerdà and is known as the Eixample, which means extension in Catalan. At the heart of this image is the 172.5-metre-tall Sagrada Familia, designed by Anton Gaudi. [Extracted from the article]
