Abstract
The article focuses on outcomes from a new combined allergy and dermatology clinic established in 2021 at St George's University Hospitals NHS Trust in London, designed to provide integrated care for young children with eczema and potential allergies. A retrospective review of 57 patients, mostly under age 2, showed that 58% had changes to their dermatology management, and early allergy testing helped reduce unnecessary dietary exclusions, as 29% tested negative for allergens allowing food reintroduction. The combined clinic also facilitated early dermatology intervention for severe eczema cases without allergies, with 44% of patients discharged directly from the clinic or after the first follow-up. This approach streamlined services by triaging patients from general practitioners or follow-ups, improving holistic care for this population.
