Abstract

The article published in the British Journal of Dermatology compares the quality of life of patients with Morgellons disease to those with psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and prurigo nodularis. The study found that patients with Morgellons disease reported a significant negative impact on various quality of life domains, leading to increased healthcare utilization. Patients with Morgellons disease had higher Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI) and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) scores compared to patients with other dermatological conditions. The study highlights the need for increased awareness and support for managing Morgellons disease, as patients often reject psychiatric care. [Extracted from the article]
