Abstract

The article discusses the rising concern of tick-borne diseases in the United States, particularly babesiosis, colloquially known as "American malaria." Cases of babesiosis have been increasing, with ticks expanding their range due to a warming climate. Interestingly, individuals with co-infections of tick-borne diseases may have a protective effect against mortality. Prevention methods such as wearing protective clothing and using insect repellent are recommended to avoid these diseases. [Extracted from the article]
