Abstract

The study's revelation that 49.8% of the sampled prisoners in Ghana had at least one psychiatric disorder resonates with the ongoing debate in Taiwan about the judicial handling of individuals with mental illnesses. This includes a comprehensive understanding of social safety nets, judicial interceptive treatments and the specific handling of crimes committed by individuals with mental illnesses. Prevalence of psychiatric disorders among sentenced prisoners in a medium security prison in Ghana: Implications for mental health assessment and service. [Extracted from the article]
