Abstract

This article focuses on a clinical case of human herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6) reactivation in a four-year-old patient diagnosed with multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C) associated with SARS-CoV-2 infection. The diagnosis of MIS-C followed World Health Organization criteria, and HHV-6 reactivation was confirmed by RT-PCR and serology. The patient presented with severe symptoms including fever, rash, seizure, shock, and hepatitis, requiring intensive care treatment with immunoglobulins and steroids. The case highlights that HHV-6 reactivation can occur in immunocompromised states induced by COVID-19 and may lead to serious complications such as hepatitis.
