Abstract
The article focuses on the resurgence of measles in the United States, a disease that was officially eliminated in 2000 due to effective vaccination programs. As of October 2025, there have been 1,544 cases and 42 outbreaks across 42 states, highlighting the need for imaging professionals to refresh their knowledge about measles to ensure safety in healthcare settings. Measles is a highly contagious viral disease that spreads through airborne droplets and can lead to severe complications, including pneumonia and subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (SSPE). The article emphasizes the importance of vaccination, adherence to infection control protocols, and awareness of the disease's symptoms and transmission methods to protect both healthcare workers and patients.
