Abstract
This article focuses on a suspected case of early-onset frontal variant Alzheimer's disease (fvAD) in a 64-year-old male, highlighting the challenges in distinguishing fvAD from behavioral variant frontotemporal dementia (bvFTD) due to overlapping symptoms such as apathy, disinhibition, and executive dysfunction. The patient exhibited pronounced memory impairment alongside executive and semantic fluency deficits, supported by neuropsychological testing and multidisciplinary assessment. Brain imaging with FDG-PET revealed decreased metabolic activity in regions consistent with Alzheimer's disease. The findings emphasize the value of comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation combined with clinical and imaging data to aid differential diagnosis between fvAD and bvFTD.
