Abstract

The article in the Clinical & Experimental Dermatology journal discusses two cases of Zoon plasma cell balanitis (PCB) associated with genital lichen planus (GLP) in men. The cases highlight the rare entity of this association, which has not been previously described, unlike the common association of Zoon vulvitis and GLP in women. The authors emphasize the importance of clinicians conducting systematic histological examinations in cases of clinically unusual PCB with lichenoid lesions to differentiate and treat associated GLP, which poses risks of anatomical changes and precancerous lesions.
