Abstract

This article focuses on a randomized controlled trial investigating the effects of laughter yoga on test anxiety and educational stress among 8th grade students in Turkey. The study involved 64 students, with the intervention group participating in laughter yoga sessions twice weekly for six weeks, while the control group received no intervention. Results showed that laughter yoga significantly reduced test anxiety, measured by the Westside Test Anxiety Scale, and educational stress, assessed by the Educational Stress Scale, particularly in subscales related to course overload, success anxiety, and expectations. The findings suggest that laughter yoga is a feasible, non-pharmacological approach to help students manage academic stress and anxiety, and the authors recommend its integration into school programs with collaboration from educators and health professionals.
