Abstract

The article focuses on a systematic review and meta-analysis evaluating the efficacy and safety of LigaSure, a surgical device, in breast cancer surgery involving axillary lymph node dissection. It highlights LigaSure's benefits of reduced intraoperative blood loss, shorter operative times, and comparable complication rates. However, the analysis lacks data on long-term oncological outcomes, cost-effectiveness in resource-limited settings, and patient-centered outcomes such as postoperative pain and lymphedema. Additionally, variability among included studies may affect the reliability of conclusions, suggesting a need for further research incorporating these factors to fully assess LigaSure's role in breast cancer surgery.
