Abstract
The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on lipid lowering therapy was examined in the prescribing of high-intensity and non-high-intensity statin therapy and ezetimibe. The COVID-19 pandemic and associated lockdown saw a significant reduction in prescribing of lipid lowering therapies. WBC seems to exert pleiotropic effects and therefore might serve as adjuvant therapy in multi-systemic disorders, but the quality of studies on the effects of WBC in the clinical setting is in general low.
