Abstract

The article discusses research on the public health policy implications of the 2022 U.S. Supreme Court decision on the abortion rights case Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization, conducted by Smith and colleagues and published within the issue. Topics explored include the recorded increase in the patient volume of two Illinois abortion clinics, the necessity of U.S. state-level policies that would increase support for abortion care, and the significant role of abortion-protective states.
