Auricular Hematoma: A Sentinel Injury in Child Abuse.

Abstract

The article describes the case of an auricular hematoma in a four-week-old female patient with classic metaphyseal fractures of the right distal and proximal tibia as a result of child abuse. Topics discussed include the characterization of an auricular hematoma, results of the patient's physical examination by the Ear, Nose, Throat physician, and the definition of a sentinal injury.
