Abstract
The article focuses on an innovative multidisciplinary approach to sexual health counseling through a partnership of Urology, Infectious Disease (ID) Medicine, and Pelvic Floor Therapy aimed at improving access to pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for men who have sex with men (M2M). The study enrolled six M2M candidates using injectable PrEP (Apretude) and found that culturally competent care addressing diverse needs and reducing stigma is essential, as many M2M experience barriers in traditional ID settings. The collaboration reportedly increased comfort and access to care by situating services within urology practices, which are more accustomed to discussing men's sexual health with less stigma. This approach also acknowledges that some M2M have sexual partners of different genders, further complicating stigma in conventional care environments.
