Abstract
Gel manicures and acrylic nails are popular trends in the nail fashion industry, but they can have negative effects on natural nails and overall health. The chemicals used in nail glue can cause skin irritation, dermatitis, and burns, and long-term use can lead to conditions like pseudo-psoriatic nails and peripheral neuropathy. UV nail lamps used to cure gel nails can increase the risk of skin cancer due to prolonged exposure to UVA light. Removing gels and acrylics can weaken natural nails and make them brittle, and over time, moisture trapped underneath false nails can lead to fungal infections. It is recommended to focus on caring for natural nails to detect any health issues early on. [Extracted from the article]
