Abstract

The article focuses on the President's Cancer Panel report, *Ensuring a Strong Future for America's Cancer Workforce*, which highlights critical shortages and challenges in the U.S. cancer care workforce amid rising cancer cases. It outlines three priority areas for workforce optimization: fostering cross-regional partnerships, expanding education and training pathways for advanced practice providers and allied health professionals, and improving cancer care team productivity through better electronic health records and prior authorization reforms. The Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) actively supports these goals, advocating for federal nursing education programs, research funding, and inclusion of oncology nurses' perspectives in policy discussions. The article encourages stakeholders to incorporate nursing insights into cancer workforce planning and to participate in local optimization efforts.
