Abstract
The article focuses on a study examining the use of complementary and alternative medicines (CAM) among autistic preschoolers in the United States. Conducted by researchers from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, the study involved 778 preschoolers aged 2-5 years across six states. Findings indicated that approximately one-third of the participants utilized CAM, primarily special diets and dietary supplements, often in conjunction with conventional treatments. The research highlights the importance of understanding CAM usage to promote evidence-based treatment options for autism while involving caregivers in decision-making processes.
