Abstract
This article focuses on a real-world retrospective study comparing HLX01, the first rituximab biosimilar produced and marketed in China, with the original rituximab drug MabThera® in treating diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). The study found no significant differences between HLX01 and MabThera in overall response rate, complete response rate, progression-free survival, or safety profiles among 33 patients treated at a single Chinese hospital. Despite some baseline differences between patient groups and a small sample size, the findings support HLX01 as a clinically equivalent and more affordable alternative to MabThera for DLBCL treatment in China. The authors note that larger, multicenter real-world studies are needed to further validate these results and to assess HLX01's efficacy in other indications such as follicular lymphoma.
