Abstract
The article focuses on direct primary care (DPC), a membership-based model that offers personalized medical services for a fee, allowing patients unlimited access to primary care services without the use of health insurance. DPC practices typically manage fewer patients than traditional offices, enabling longer appointment times and quicker access to care. While DPC membership fees range from $600 to $1,200 annually, concierge care, a similar model, tends to be more expensive, costing between $2,000 and $10,000 per year. Recent legislative changes will allow DPC membership fees to be considered qualified medical expenses for health savings accounts starting January 1, 2026, enhancing affordability for patients.
