Abstract
The article focuses on the historical and ongoing plight of Palestinian refugees, stemming from the Nakba, or "catastrophe," in 1948, which resulted in the mass displacement of over 700,000 Palestinians. Many of these refugees, who still hold keys to their ancestral homes, face significant health challenges due to their statelessness and the structural oppression they experience in various host countries and the occupied Palestinian territories. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) provides essential services to nearly 6 million registered Palestinian refugees, yet it faces criticism and funding cuts, particularly from Israel and the United States. The article emphasizes that addressing the root causes of displacement and ensuring the right to return are crucial for improving the health and well-being of Palestinian refugees.
