Abstract
This article focuses on evaluating the effect of a peer education model on reducing smartphone addiction among adolescents in Turkey. Conducted as a semi-experimental study with 622 high school students, the research implemented a structured peer educator training program followed by peer-led education sessions. Results showed a statistically significant reduction in smartphone addiction scores in the intervention group compared to the control group, indicating the peer education model's effectiveness. The study recommends the development and implementation of school-based peer education programs as a preventive strategy against smartphone addiction in adolescents, while noting limitations such as the lack of long-term follow-up and reliance on self-reported data.
