Eugene Hernandez, the director of the Sundance Film Festival and head of public programming at Sundance Institute, is spotlighting new voices in film. Hernandez, who was born and raised in Indio, California, with Mexican heritage, didn't have connections or resources to internships in the industry. However, he now recognizes the importance of bringing diverse voices to audiences and sees this as a great moment for cultural leaders to promote discovery and diversity.
