Abstract

The Administration for Children and Families' Administration for Native Americans is offering grants through the Native American Language Preservation and Maintenance announcement. The grants aim to support the assessment of native languages in established communities and the development of curriculum and education projects to preserve these languages. The deadline for applications is May 20, 2024, and a total of $4 million is available for up to four awards. Eligible applicants include federally recognized Native American tribes, incorporated nonfederally recognized tribes, and consortia of Indian tribes. The projects funded by these grants focus on revitalizing Native American languages through various services such as language revitalization, intergenerational language projects, interpretation and translation, and technology and language materials.
