Abstract

The article focuses on Mohawk (Iroquois) language dictionary, originating around 1660 by Jesuit fathers in New France, serves as evidence of the extensive efforts made by Catholic missionaries to convert Indigenous people and foster understanding between French and Indigenous languages.
